Dr. Subodh Mehta Medical Centre was started in the year 1967. This Medical Centre was administered by Dr. Subodh Mehta Medical Relief Trust.
Dr. Subodh Mehta Medical Centre aims at alleviating the ailments of people through Homoeopathy, a system of medicine known for the efficacy of its curative quality and convenience in administration while being within the means of the masses.
Dr. Subodh Mehta, whose name the centre bears, dedicated himself to the services of suffering humanity. He offered free consultation and treatment for over 30 years at his own residence. After retirement, he undertook systematic research in the cure of diseases known to be incurable or hard to cure. In recognition of his outstanding public service; his admirers and grateful beneficiaries founded a Trust in 1968. With the blessings of the Almighty and support of the well-wishers, the Medical Centre has grown from Homoeopathy O.P.D. to full-fledged Diagnostic Centre, offering medical services at a very concessional rate to poor and needy and middle-class society at a large.
Deepak Mehta, Chairman
Son of Dr. Subodh Mehta. Feels blessed to have been able to continue philanthropic work of Dr. Mehta with good support from co-trustees, patients and well-wishers. Has been fortunate to receive funds when needed from charitable institutes and business associates/colleagues. His life's dream and ambition is to start a Charitable Hospital in memory of Dr. Mehta where Homoeopaths and Allopath work together to treat incurable health conditions in the outskirts of Mumbai and to serve the 'have-nots' who cannot afford the cost of modern treatment.
Industrialist and a close family friend. A witness to the decades of selfless service provided by Dr. Subodh Mehta. Despite business commitments devote considerable time to the work done by the Medical Centre and is a source of strength.
Naresh Kumar Jain
Again an ardent admirer of Dr. Subodh Mehta and a beneficiary of the Homoeopathic treatment received from the Centre. Despite business commitments is always willing to give benefit of his time for the welfare of the Medical Centre.
I am privileged to be the grandson of Late Dr. Subodh Mehta who was a very eminent homeopath of the country and to have been born and brought up in an atmosphere where philanthropy was practiced by my grandfather who dedicated his entire life for the amelioration of human suffering treating patients without any discrimination of caste, creed or religion. He did not distinguish rich and the poor and treated all with the same dedication and devotion.
Our house in Khar – a suburb of Mumbai was like a temple where my grandfather used to treat on average 400 to 500 patients a day without charging any fees. His principle was not to charge anything for the services that he rendered as he strongly believed that the suffering is the same with the rich and the poor.
I was privileged to be born to such a noble family and when my father Deepak Mehta proposed my name to be a trustee in the medical center, I readily accepted and I fervently hope that in time to come I will be able to contribute effectively for the betterment of the society at large.
Being a part of the film fraternity myself for more than two decades I hope to get necessary support from Bollywood for further expansion of the medical center as many leading artists were patients of Dr. Subodh Mehta.
I work in the Reinsurance Industry, currently in Dubai heading the Middle East offices of a multinational reinsurance broker. I am an MBA by qualification and an Associate of the Insurance Institute of India.
I have been associated with Subodh Mehta Medical Centre since many years and in many ways. My mother Dr. Harshvina Jani used to practice at the centre for 1978 years. I have grown up learning the value of service to others from her. When my Masa Mr. Deepak Mehta asked me to join this centre as a trustee I was happy and honoured to be able to contribute in any way to the great work being done by everyone here to carry forward the vision of Dr. Subodh Mehta.
